Canada welcomes you as a tourist, student or temporary worker. Every year, more than 35million people visit Canada to enjoy the many opportunities our country has to offer.
Depending on where you live, and the reason for your visit, you will need to meet certain entry requirements.
Carry proper identification
Some people do not require a visa to enter Canada, but need specific documentation to return to their home country. Make sure you carry proper identification for yourself and any children travelling with you. Visit the for more information.
Effective May 29, temporary residents currently in Canada with valid student or temporary foreign worker status must submit their application for a new temporary resident visa to the Case Processing Pilot Office in Ottawa (CPP‑O), or visa office that serves their country of nationality.
Parent and Grandparent Super Visa:
NOTE: Parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens and permanent residents have a new option for visiting Canada. As of December1, 2011, you may
be eligible to apply for the Parent and Grandparent Super Visa and enjoy visits to Canada
of up to two years without the need to renew your status.
